“Do not separate yourself from the community…..” Hillel
Temple Adath Yeshurun is delighted to celebrate ‘simchas’ and to support one in times of sorrow. Please contact the rabbi directly to discuss weddings, Baby Namings/Brit Milah, and funerals.
B’nai Mitzvot
To become a B’nai Mitzvah at Temple Adath Yeshurun, the student’s family must be members of the congregation. Students must be registered in the TAY Religious School beginning in fourth grade, at least three years prior to the B’nai Mitzvah. Exceptions can be made for students who move into the community, and students with special needs, Exceptions are made at the discretion of the Rabbi and the Religious School Committee. In the case of a student new to the community, the three year commitment prior to the B’nai Mitzvah may be waived if the student agrees to remain in Hebrew High School and become a TAY Confirmand. In the case of students with special needs or circumstances, each instance will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
Please see the link here to the B’nai Mitzvah Handbook for more complete information.
